Shannon Leasure – Class of 2026

SHANNON LEASURE

(Noble County)  

Shannon Leasure was one of the most versatile athletes in the history of Shenandoah High School, where she graduated in 2004 as the valedictorian. Leasure enjoyed success on the volleyball court, the basketball court and as a track and field athlete. 

In basketball, she owns the school record for most points by either a girl or a boy at 1,691. As a senior, she was named the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association’s Division III Player of the Year. In addition, she was the District 12 Player of the Year, The Marietta Times Player of the Year and the All-Eastern District Co-Player of the Year. Besides those honors, she was a Division III First Team All-Ohio selection and competed in the state’s North-South All-Star Game for Division III.

In volleyball, she was the Player of the Year in District 12 and the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference as a senior. Plus, she was a Second Team All-Ohio pick. In track and field, Leasure was the OVAC 300 hurdles champ, a regional finalist and a State Meet qualifier. 

She played basketball at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio for four years. Leasure was a part of two NAIA national tournament teams. She made the All-Freshman Team and was presented with the Champion of Character Award. 

As a coach at Shenandoah, Leasure was the Pioneer Valley Conference Coach of the Year for volleyball in the seasons of 2011-14 and boys track in 2012-14. She was also the Eastern District Boys Track Coach of the Year in 2015. 

Known for being an outstanding leader in the classroom, she is currently the Director of Mathematics for the Ohio Valley Education Service Center.
